The Story of DARKeWOLF & Olddog

Welcome to a furry time capsule from the late 90's and early 2000's.

I discovered the furry world in the late 90's. You can read about my furry awakening here. Back then there were some rudimentay websites but also newsgroups and IRC. I would hang out in the undernet #BEARCAVE and #FURRY channels spending my time chatting up the bears and RPing with members of the furry chat.

My interest in wolves led me eventually to adopting a wolf-hybrid puppy, which is an important catalyst to this story but I won't go into the details here. I'll just say as a quick PSA, don't do that! It's not as wonderful as you might imagine. Dogs are dogs for a reason. Wolves are wild. They shouldn't mix.

One day while I was in the #BEARCAVE, I mentioned that I had a wolf-dog in the main channel. A few seconds later I recieved a private message from "Olddog". 

				<Olddog>: You're an idiot.
				<DARKeWOLF>: ...

This exchange would be the beginning of our courtship. After two years of chatting online I decided to visit IRL. It would be another 4 years before I could move to Canada. During that span we'd see each other a few times a year. The rest of that time was spent in IRC and later ICQ. I used my furry art to explore our relationship and express my feelings, both sentimental and carnal. Below is a selection of my work with these two characters.

DARKeWOLF: early 20's tech savy wolf hunting for trouble. He played a lot of Quake 2 online, hence the cool and edgy name...


Olddog: Handsome hound dog in his 60's not looking for trouble. Somehow he was techy enough to be on IRC, so it was meant to be.
